Increasing your traffic by leveraging Twitter For Business

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009 | local info

The micro bloging platform Twitter has fashioned a small media storm this year with a frenzy of celebrities discussing Twitter on their TV and radio shows , and business strategists saying that we can leverage Twitter to new business leads , the interest in Twitter is at a record peak . You probably know people on Twitter and your suppliers may have invited you to their Twitter profile . And that is what I want to discuss with you today . What are YOU doing about it for yourself?

It seems as though many people are still ignoring the potential of Twitter. That could be because it’s potential is disguised inbetween benile posts about breakfast choice.

But however you approach your Twitter strategy and there’s a great FREE training video about that at http://www.TrafficHug.com/twittervideo/ but whatever you do, you should be doing something. Even at a minimum you have one more point of contact via Twitter , ideally with some way of people finding you by your keyword, or your name. I mean a few people are just going to wonder if your business (or you) are on Twitter and type in twitter dot com slash acme widgets. Now it will be embarrassing is a cyber squatter is sitting on your own name, so another good reason to make sure you secure your place in the Twit’o’sphere. (By the way things can be done about cyber squatters, just ask me.)

In other articles we talk about how to get noticed for your keyword and how to manage your account for targeted conversion (also covered well in that free video I mentioned earlier) but let’s do something we can do right now.

A lot of people think of Twitter traffic as an internal channel of Twitter itself . A concept most Twitter directories also foster. But with Twitter , the advantages of having your regular traffic subscribe to you on Twitter are well worth having . So huge that we need to take action today .

A very quick solution is to add a Twitter “badge” to your web presences . A badge is just an image stating who you are on Twitter with a hyperlink to your Twitter profile. In the videos , there’s more advanced material , but the badge will get our toe in the water for today .

WHERE CAN I CREATE MY TWITTER BADGE?
You can get your own customised Twitter badge for zilcho from this website ;
http://wwwTwitterHug.com/twitter/category/badge/ - Custom Twitter Badge for free .

You just paste the HTML it provides in to your page .

You can also paste the pure HTML in to most blog widgets. I’ve placed one on all my blogs.

The Twitter badge is contained in its own code block so should exist fine almost anywhere.

If you create a table or div tag to position it in , then you can just paste the code in verbatim . With WYSIWYG html editors, there is usually an HTML “object” box you can place in the desired location and just place the code in to that. Adobe Dreamweaver users can just insert an AP Layer (from the insert menu) and then paste the code in to that using the HTML code view pane.

Once you’ve placed your badge, you can smile in the knowledge you have taken the right action, and before most of your competitors
