Buy and sell scrap gold
Tuesday, September 30th, 2008 | local info
Buying and selling scrap gold can be a surprisingly profitable enterprise, if you do it right. It doesn’t really matter if you buy or sell: on both sides of the fence there’s profit to be made, depending on what the market does. Anyway, in order for you to buy scrap gold, there must be a second party who is selling it. And in order for you to sell scrap gold, there must be… another person who is willing to buy it! In this trade it’s not a bad idea to have a great deal of insight in what moves the other person. Let us look at the sellers point of view - after all, being a dealer, be it amateur or professional, you may every now and then find yourself with too much of the yellow stuff at hand. So: are you looking for ways to make some extra income? Have you considered selling scrap gold?
Gold is always a good investment. You can make a nice little profit selling gold, and you don’t have to own bars of 24 karat gold to make a profit. Most of us already have some gold in various forms called scrap gold or gold scrap. It can be anything from old jewelry that is broken, cluster rings, gold bullion, gold sheet, gold dental crowns, etc. When you want to sell gold for scrap you don’t have to worry about issues like condition, because it is never going to be used as it is anyway. The main characteristic of any scrap, including scrap gold, is that it will be recycled before it is used.
The usual reason for selling gold scrap is to make a bit of extra money from things that gather dust and lie hidden in the dresser. Restoring most damaged gold objects like old jewelry tends to be not economical, so selling off the damaged items as scrap gold is a much more productive way of dealing with the surplus. Even when the scrap gold dealers profit is taken into account, you will undoubtedly make a great profit on your broken gold objects or jewelries that are a few years old, as the price should have increased since the time you bought those items. It’s also possible to extract gold from stuff like computer boards, broken cell phones, all forms of gold plated objects, etcetera. Really: there’s gold in them thar scraps!
