I have always craved the exotic, from the clothes I wear, to the foods that I eat and most especially the places I travel to. I visited Expedia and was able to find the solution to my latest desire to visit somewhere new; it was Singapore. Singapore travel is much more than you expected and less than you thought you’d pay, especially if you take advantage of Expedia coupons.

Highlights of My Adventure
I wanted to see for myself what a Chinese New Year would be like amongst the Chinese people. I worked with Expedia to plan my trip and once I arrived, it was beyond anything that I had experienced in the past. The celebrations are running from January the 3^rd through the 15^th of February. I visited the Chinatown neighborhood and had a blast watching the dragons and people go by.

Although Chinese New Year is celebrated throughout Singapore, it is Chinatown that is the key spot for most of the celebrations. I celebrated with the local people at the street bazaars and took in some of their nightly entertainment options. The traditional food for the Chinese New Year is yusheng and for those of us that need a translation, raw fish salad. Be sure to check online for more information regarding the festivities. Where I Stayed
I made the Furama Riverfront Hotel, Singapore my home base since it was centrally located in the center of town. My hotel allowed me easy access to Chinatown where I planned to be and afforded me the opportunity to shop and eat in the business district of Orchard Road. My room was well furnished and I enjoyed all of the amenities such as a spacious bathroom with modern fixtures, a mini bar and an important aspect for me, wireless internet access. The beds were about the softest that I have ever slept on at any resort.

Dinning
I couldn’t resist the allure of Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie so I treated myself to a amazing dinner of Corn & Crab Chowder along with Mushroom Alfredo Spaghetti. I made sure I left plenty of room for my favorite part of any meal, dessert. I had the Foret Noire or Black Forest with a wonderful combination of kirsch Chantilly cream, chocolate ice cream and a dark compote made from cherries. It was one of the best deserts I’ve ever had.
